Biography

I have been working in the education field for nearly two decades. After some time working in adult education I began lecturing in history at San Francisco State University, as well as other campuses throughout the Bay Area. My teaching interests are in World History, Latin American History and U.S. History. I especially like teaching World History because it allows me to explore diverse people and cultures and to discuss global developments. In Latin American History my teaching emphasizes the social and political movements in the 20th century such as the Mexican and Cuban Revolutions and the civil wars in Central America during the 1970s and 1980s. Finally, I teach U.S. History since Reconstruction. Modern U.S. history has always interested me, particularly the social and political movements in the post-WWII era. In addition, I teach U.S. History for Foreign Students: a general education requirement for international students. In the summer of 2010 I taught this course at Peking University Founder Technology College, in Beijing China, to students transferring to San Francisco State University.
