Graduate Certificate in History Education

Are you a middle or high school social studies teacher looking to expand your knowledge of history and raise your salary?

The History Department is excited to announce the launch of its Graduate Certificate in History Education.  Designed for working and aspiring secondary school social studies teachers, this 15-unit program allows teachers to deepen their historical knowledge and skills.  In many districts, additional units will also increase your current and future earnings.  Teachers enrolled in the certificate program will take four seminars at the MA level and complete a capstone history curriculum project.  Our engaged and dedicated faculty offer a broad range of courses organized around diverse regions, periods, and themes and provide individual attention and mentorship.  Courses are offered after 4 PM, and the certificate can be completed at your own pace in one to two years.
